Muxe
In Juchitan, a city in the southern part of Oaxaca, Mexico, you find the indigenous people from the Zapotec-culture, that still have their own language and culture from before the Spaniards came. The local tradition here includes a third gender, called Muxe. The Muxe are neither regarded as men or women, but socially in the society and in their families, they behave as women. They often wear traditional female clothing, and they have a special social status in the Zapotec culture.
